Blogger Recognition Award
Like the Liebster Award, I’ve actually already received one of these before, but I’m not going sneer at it. Like most other blogging awards, it’s a way to spread the word about bloggers to give them a little better traction.
More Backstory
My wife Jennifer actually was the first one to start a blog. We both began on Blogger at first, but the features on there were difficult to make sense of at times. Hell, my blog looked like it was put together by a two year-old. It wasn’t long until Jennifer discovered WordPress however, and we set up our new sites in a matter of minutes.
Jennifer’s first site here on WordPress was her Woodelf Adventures, and mine was obviously Falcon Reviews.
My wife has constantly encouraged me every step of the way, giving me constant feedback and editing some of my posts. Without her, I likely would’ve stopped doing this long ago.
More Advice From An Unprofessional Amateur
What other advice might I have for other bloggers? Love it. Love every second of it. Throw everything you have at your blog. Give it your all because half-assed writing is obvious. The same applies to everything you do in life… Especially when it comes to relationships.
My Nominees
The ones I nominate here are the folks that are just genuinely entertaining to read. I love seeing new posts from these people because I know that I’ll have something that makes me smile in store for me.
The Rules
- Thank the blogger that nominated you.
- Attach the award to the post.
- Give a brief story of how your blog started.
- Give a piece of advice or two to new bloggers.
- Select 5 other bloggers you want to give the award to.
Wow what a post!! So we just have to do the same to get nominated for these awards?

Actually, I really should’ve had you on there for the Sunshine Award, so I went ahead and amended that.

Wow! Well done on getting all caught up in a single post! I’ve had a couple of Sunshine nominations myself that I need to catch up on. Hopefully next month I will!

It was a bit of an undertaking, but after a few hours of compiling posts and coming up with the answers, I finally got it done! By now means do you need to make a post in response. These are a lot of work honestly. I’m a little winded just thinking about it.
Actually, that was probably from getting chased around the house by my dog. Nevertheless, thank you for being such an inspiring force on here. Looking forward to writing some more now!

Honestly, you belong in the dearest category. You and I have been corresponding on here for almost a year now. You’ve been a good blogging friend. Much appreciated!

Thank you for the nomination! 🙂. I’ve really enjoyed reading your posts (and comments!) So I’m chuffed to be nominated by you. I’m currently writing a sunshine blogger post and I wrote a leibster a little while ago, so I’ll wrap your nomination up with what I’m writing at the moment. Thank you again 🤗.

Sounds good to me. I’m glad to have people like you reading my stuff. I’ll have to pop on to see your post when you finish it.

Many thanks from me too. As you know, I’m an avid reader here, and I’ve really appreciated your support and involvement over at my place too, so it really means a lot.
I’ll get cracking on my answers as soon as possible!

I try, but I’m starting to realize that there are a ton of talented folks on here. Making it hard to keep up sometimes.
Here’s to another great year, and many more posts!

Oh you’ve outed me now… my affection for your work was blatantly apparent despite my blanket attempt to nominate others as well 😛 It seems like not only myself but the entirety of WP seems to enjoy your content! Congratulations on all the nominations! Your blog posts are always ones I’m excited to see pop up in my reader, and I’m glad that that feeling is also shared by so many others here!
Your blurb about me and my blog had me laughing out loud. Thank you so much!
As always, it was wonderful getting to know more about you (and your wife!). My boyfriend and I took a similarly long road trip (24 hours one way) in the first year of our relationship and it was truly a test of our love! I’m so glad that you enjoyed your road trip so much. I can relate to your sentiment about how the destination is not the prize, but rather the journey you take with someone you love!
I also hope you can find your GameCube controller. It must be the worst knowing you’re so close to being able to play save one tiny physical component of the machine…
I am jealous of your citrus tree accessibility! Where I live, apple trees are plentiful but we don’t have much in the way of citrus. I can only imagine how wonderful a fresh lemon must taste. I’ve got to add that to my list of things to do sometime.
Your love for deviled eggs cannot possibly outweigh mine! I would eat the entire plate while people’s backs were turned, but then they’d know it was me when they turned around, which would be awkward. My restraint is quite strong.
I also love your blog advice. It’s completely worthwhile to focus and just write. The nature of the things I put together on my site don’t require much research or eloquence, but lately I’ve been trying to string opinions together and these two pieces of advice are what’s getting me through this post I’m assembling. Thanks for that!

Long road trips really are the best. Traveling with Jennifer is always fun, even when we aren’t talking or she’s not singing along to the music. Sometimes it’s nice to just be going somewhere with someone.
I’m sure my controllers will turn up, but I think I need a memory card as well. I’m not sure where mine went, so I may be SOL without it too.
Sadly, my citrus accessibility has dropped since I moved to Oklahoma, but when I was living in California as a kid, there was a family down the street that had a lemon tree in their front yard. The funny thing is that the lemons that grew there were much sweeter than the ones you can get in the grocery store. I could eat them like an orange. Really making me crave them now. Funnily enough, thinking about him reminds me of going over to his house and playing SNES. We used to play Super Metroid and other games, though I never made it far before getting killed.
The only thing that stops me from devouring all of the deviled eggs is the knowledge of the aftermath that I’d have to endure. But we won’t speak of that…
Sometimes writing really is a chore, and I’ve had to take a break from it every now and then. That’s what ended up happening to me over the last couple weeks. I’ve finally gotten out of the rut though! Now I’m curious about what your new post is going to be about…

Ahhh the new post won’t be anything too special, but I appreciate your enthusiasm. I’m trying to formulate my thoughts on things I wish I knew prior to starting Miracle Warriors because it was so hilariously obscure at times. Because I’ll be playing more RPGs in the next few months, I might make that kind of post a regular thing if I’m often feeling flabbergasted or tickled by how things pan out. I don’t know how many people out there would appreciate that kind of post, but hell… why not? 🙂

Well, thank you kindly for the nomination! I’m glad I found your blog; it’s one I always look forward to reading 🙂
You have fantastic advice for other bloggers, and I really liked your answers for the Lovely Blog Award! I’m also impressed that you got all those awards into one post!! I’ll be getting to work on your questions soon. I’m in the middle of doing some research for upcoming posts, but I’m looking forward to answering them! Thank you again!

You’re very welcome. I’m not sure where or when I first met any of you guys (old age memory issues I’m sure), but I’m sure glad I did!
Research… I need to hit the books soon on some stuff too. Good luck!

Congrats! That was quite the award show. Much better than those silly ones they have on TV every year.
Thanks for the nomination too! Much appreciated 🙂

If only I had the talent to do a video of this! That’d be an excellent award show…
You’re welcome by the way, and the nomination is well deserved.
