I’m going to be 100% honest with you fine folks.

Creating theseĀ In Case You Missed It: Gaming News videos is a bit of work, and I feel it goes without saying that I definitely need to improve things before I start getting carried away with it.

Well, I think I already got carried away with it.

To be frank with you all, I still want to do these videos, but I feel as if it’s a bit of an infodump to deal with considering that you’re basically staring at my stupid face for 10-20 minutes while I ramble on about random gaming news.

So I think I’m going to taper back the posting of these videos to once a month, with perhaps special videos for extenuating circumstances. You know, if I get a big scoop or something (that’s a news thing, right?). I’m also looking at hosting videos directly through WordPress instead of linking externally through YouTube. Falcon Game Reviews’ videos are a drop in the bucket compared to the deluge of content already on there, and I don’t feel that it’s helping at all having my videos hosted there.

Thanks to Falcon Game Reviews’ supporters, namely Athena from AmbiGaming and LightningEllen from LightningEllen’s Release, as well as my wife Jennifer, I may have the money soon to be able to take the next step outlined in Falcon Game Reviews’ Patreon goals.

So while this isn’t the end of ICYMI: Gaming News, it’s a hiatus of sorts. I appreciate everyone that has been watching each installment. Thank you all.

I'm just a gamer that enjoys talking about my hobbies. I do a little more than that too. I love cooking, grilling, being outdoors, going target shooting, etc.

    1. I do appreciate your support! I went ahead and updated the Thank You page to reflect that as well šŸ™‚

As for the videos, I still like doing them. It’s just likely going to be something I do more rarely. I also felt like I was neglecting this site more and more as I spent my time on YouTube instead.

      1. It’s such a balancing act. I haven’t really fleshed out my YouTube page so that I can concentrate on this and editing, but I need to figure out how to manage my time between. There’s a LOT Of audio/video stuff I want to do, more leaning towards the audio first since I have a bunch that need edited. I’d love a way to freeze/manipulate time.

        1. I just need to justify the awesome mic I own. It’s one of those Blue Yetis. The thing is perfect for audio work!

I’m planning a more focused monthly news segment for October, and I have some big news to work with as well.

          1. That’s what I have! It’s such a kick ass mic. I bought it after Christmas of last year since I got a bunch of Amazon gift cards. Worth ever penny. I didn’t even need to buy the pop filter, though that was only around $10 or so. Granted I had to look up the best way to make it sound good, but that’s what YouTube is for.

              1. It’s honestly just a great investment for a lot of options, and the $80 price tag wasn’t too steep for how much use I can get out of it.

                1. Funny, that’s about the same amount we paid for ours.
